This Pendleton Woolen Millscardigan debuted in 1972 and became a classic of the era. Resurrected in the 1998 Coen Brothers filmThe Big Lebowski,where Jeff Bridges wore his own, original sweater to bring the character of The Dude to life. Following the films success and the characters popularity, Pendletonbrought the cardiganout of retirement and it's been a staple of their range ever since.

PROVENANCE AND ETHICS
Pendleton's family history in Oregon dates back to 1863 when Thomas Kay, a young English weaveropened his own mill in Salem, Oregon. In 1909 Thomas's three grandsons, Clarence Morton Bishop, Royal Thomas Bishop, and Robert Chauncey Bishop opened Pendleton Woolen Mills. Six generations laterPendletonWoolen Mills is still run inOregonby the Bishop family.
